Jewelry Software Installation Guide for Fresh USA systems. This technical page explains how to prepare the Windows computer, install the application, complete the first launch and verify the database connection before reader commissioning.

Before Installing Jewelry Software
AntiTheft v2.9 is compatible with current Windows environments as well as older supported Windows versions. The supplied Fresh USA manual lists Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 because the software also supports those legacy installations. The same application can also be deployed on current Windows systems, including Windows 11, when the required Microsoft .NET and SQL components are installed.
Before installation:
- confirm the Windows computer or server that will run the software;
- confirm the database location and whether the project will use local SQL Express or another SQL Server instance;
- verify network access if fixed readers will communicate through TCP/IP;
- keep administrator-level Windows access available for installation and database configuration.
Install the Fresh USA Jewelry Software
The documented installation package includes the application installer and prerequisite setup. The full setup checks required libraries and components before installing the AntiTheft application. If a required component is missing, the installer can prompt for the required installation step.
- Download the software from the primary Jewelry Inventory Software Download page.
- Run the installation package on the selected Windows computer.
- Complete any required prerequisite installation.
- Finish the AntiTheft application installation.
- Launch the application from the desktop shortcut.
First Launch and Administrator Login
On first launch, the software opens an authorization window. The supplied manual documents a default user named Administrator. Password settings can be configured after the initial installation according to the user-rights requirements of the project.
The first startup may also request database connection parameters. Complete the database configuration before reader setup so the software can save item records, reader settings and events correctly.
Database Connection Setup
For the SQL Express configuration documented in the Fresh USA manual, open the database settings and enter the connection parameters. The manual uses .\sqlexpress as the server value for the standard SQL Express installation, with Windows authentication enabled. On a first system launch, the option to create a new database can be selected.
If the jewelry company uses its own SQL Server environment, the connection parameters can be different. Coordinate the database name, server address, authentication method and firewall access with the company IT administrator.
Verify the Installation Before Reader Setup
Do not begin antenna tuning until the base software is operating correctly. Verify:
- the application launches without errors;
- the correct database opens;
- the Administrator account can access the required settings;
- the computer has network communication with the planned reader network;
- date, time and Windows network settings are correct for event logging.

After the software and database are working, configure each reader and communication interface. For TCP/IP readers, each reader should have its own network identity and communication settings. Then assign the reader to the correct operating mode and physical location.
