RFID Reader IP & Port Configuration Guide
RFID Reader IP Configuration is required before a network reader can communicate reliably with Fresh USA access-control software. This guide covers the typical TCP/IP workflow for Fresh USA readers and the specific PoE setup sequence used with F-910 / F-920 / F-930 PoE configurations.
RFID Reader IP Configuration: Prepare the Network
During initial setup, the computer and reader must be placed on the same IPv4 subnet. For the F-910 / F-920 / F-930 PoE setup package, the documented initial reader address is commonly 192.168.0.250.
- Connect the PoE RFID reader to the PoE router by RJ45 Ethernet.
- Connect the PoE router to the configuration computer.
- Open the computer Ethernet IPv4 settings.
- For the initial discovery stage, use 192.168.0.1 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0.
- Launch UHF Reader 18-PoE CSharp v2.61.
- Select Communication > TCP/IP > TCP/IP Configuration, then use the Search function to locate the reader.
Open the Reader Network Interface
After the reader appears in the configuration utility, select the detected IP address and open the reader network interface from the Tool menu. When required, the documented default login for this PoE configuration is admin / admin.
Change the reader to the final project network. One documented Fresh USA example uses:
- Reader IP: 192.168.1.190
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Default gateway: 192.168.1.1
The final IP must be unique on the customer network. Do not assign the same address to more than one reader.
Configure Reader Ports
For the F-910 / F-920 / F-930 PoE configuration shown in the Fresh USA setup instructions, reader connection ports can be assigned sequentially, for example 27011, 27012, 27013 and so on. Use a unique IP address and port combination for every connected reader.
The documented serial-channel configuration uses a baud rate of 57600 for this PoE module. Save the parameters, apply/restart the network module and power-cycle the reader for about 10 seconds when the configuration requires a reboot.
Return the Computer to the Final Subnet
After changing the reader from the 192.168.0.x network to the 192.168.1.x network, update the computer to the same final subnet. The documented example uses computer IP 192.168.1.2 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0. The computer, router and reader must be on compatible addresses but must not share the same IP.
Verify Communication
Reopen the configuration utility, select TCP/IP, enter the final reader IP and port, and open the network connection. Reader parameters should appear when communication is successful. If the reader is not detected, verify power, Ethernet wiring, subnet, IP address, port and firewall settings.
For these readers, use the dedicated reader configuration utility rather than relying on a generic ping test during initial setup.
Add the Reader to Access Control Software
After RFID reader IP configuration is complete, open Fresh USA Access Control Software, add the reader with the same IP address and port, select the correct reader family and assign it to the appropriate entrance, exit, gate or access point. Then perform an authorized and unauthorized credential test and confirm that the event appears correctly.
