Description

Complete F-930 Overhead Anti-Theft System / Tracker

The Fresh USA F-930 is a complete overhead system for detecting tagged merchandise and assets moving through an exit, doorway, corridor or controlled passage. The standard package includes the overhead detection unit, built-in normally open dry-contact relay, red flashing light with adjustable audible alarm, power supply and mounting bracket.

Overhead Anti-Theft Protection and Tagged-Item Tracking

The system monitors a defined detection zone near an exit or controlled passage. When an active compatible tag enters the monitored area, the system activates the red flashing light and audible alarm.

Overhead placement keeps the entrance open and avoids the need for conventional floor-mounted security pedestals. The system can be installed visibly above the entrance or, where ceiling construction and RF conditions permit, concealed behind a suitable non-metallic ceiling surface.

In standalone operation, the system provides immediate local anti-theft notification without requiring a computer or Internet connection. When connected to optional Fresh USA Windows software, it can also support event tracking, tagged-item records, inventory functions and monitoring of multiple entrances.

Tag selection depends on the merchandise material, packaging, required detection distance and attachment method. Testing samples on the actual merchandise is recommended before ordering a large quantity.

How the System Works

  1. Compatible UHF security tags are attached to protected merchandise, equipment or other assets.
  2. The F-930 system monitors the configured detection area near the protected exit or passage.
  3. When an active tagged item enters the monitored area, the system identifies the tag.
  4. The red flashing light and audible alarm are activated.
  5. The built-in dry-contact relay can send a control signal to a compatible alarm panel, controller, turnstile input or other approved low-voltage control input.
  6. With optional Fresh USA software, the event can also be displayed, recorded and associated with registered merchandise or assets.

Detection-Zone Planning

The F-930 hardware supports long-range detection, but an anti-theft installation should not automatically use the maximum possible distance. The goal is to create a focused detection area across the exit without continuously detecting tagged merchandise on nearby displays or shelves.

Site Factor Why It Matters
Entrance width Determines whether one overhead system can reliably monitor the complete passage.
Ceiling height Affects mounting angle, RF output and distance between the system and the security tags.
Merchandise near the exit Tagged merchandise located inside the active detection area can cause repeated alarms.
Metal structures Metal doors, security grilles, shelving and ceiling grids can reflect or redirect the detection field.
Tag type and position Tag dimensions, orientation, packaging material and attachment position affect detection reliability.
Adjacent entrances Nearby doors may require reduced RF power, different system angles or independently adjusted zones.
Keep tagged merchandise outside the monitored exit area.

Before ordering, measure the distance from the proposed overhead system location to the nearest tagged product display. Items located too close to the exit can create continuous or intermittent alarms.

Choosing Compatible Security Tags

There is no single tag suitable for every product. The correct tag depends on the item material, packaging, required reading distance, attachment method and whether the tag must be visible, concealed, reusable, washable or tamper-evident.

Product or Material Typical Tag Direction Important Limitation
Cardboard, plastic, glass and general packaged goods Regular UHF security label or sticker Test the final tag position on the actual packaged item
Metal tools, electronics and equipment Anti-metal UHF tag Regular flat labels normally do not work correctly when attached directly to metal
Perfumes, bottles, oils, creams and liquid containers Specialized tag selected for the package and liquid content Regular flat labels can have reduced performance close to liquids
Clothing, towels, uniforms and textiles Hanging, sewn-in or washable textile tag Select according to laundering, attachment and customer-use requirements

Available tag options include:

Third-party tags require verification and programming.

Frequency, protocol, memory settings, programming, product material and actual detection performance must be confirmed. Generic tags should not automatically be assumed compatible.

Optional Anti-Theft and Inventory Software

The system can be connected through TCP/IP to Fresh USA Windows Anti-Theft / Inventory Software.

The software can support:

  • On-screen attempted-theft notifications
  • Audible computer alarms
  • Monitoring of multiple entrances and protected zones
  • Registration of merchandise, equipment, assets and tags

Installation Requirements

Installation includes overhead mounting, low-voltage power, alarm wiring, system alignment and detection testing. Installation should be completed by a qualified low-voltage, security, electrical or systems-integration contractor.

  • Measure the exact entrance or passage width.
  • Confirm the ceiling height and proposed mounting location.
  • Measure the distance to the nearest tagged merchandise.
  • Identify metal security grilles, doors and ceiling structures.
  • Confirm whether installation will be visible or concealed.
  • Select and test tags on the actual merchandise.
  • Adjust RF power and system angle after installation.
  • Confirm standalone or software-managed operation.
  • Protect the power supply and wiring appropriately.
Door and emergency-egress safety:

The built-in dry-contact relay may be connected only to a compatible low-voltage control input. It must not directly power an electromagnetic lock, turnstile, high-voltage device or other load.

Anti-theft operation must not override fire-alarm release, emergency egress, accessibility requirements or legally required life-safety functions.

How Many Systems Are Required?

  • One system is normally planned for each independently monitored exit, corridor or controlled passage.
  • Multiple entrances normally require separate system units and independently adjusted detection areas.
  • Adjacent entrances may require reduced RF power, different mounting angles or physical separation between zones.
  • Every F-930 connected to Fresh USA software requires its own system-unit license.
  • Large, unusually wide or metal-intensive entrances should be reviewed before equipment is ordered.

Where the Overhead System Is Typically Used

  • Retail stores and boutiques
  • Apparel, footwear and fashion stores
  • Beauty, cosmetics and perfume stores with suitable tags
  • Electronics and accessory stores
  • Gyms, fitness clubs and towel-control areas
  • Hotels, spas and hospitality facilities
  • Warehouses and stockroom exits
  • Offices with laptops, tablets and equipment
  • Healthcare, laboratory and commercial facilities
  • Controlled corridors and employee exits
Not recommended for jewelry Smart Shelf applications.
