The F-6950 is built around the proven Impinj Indy R2000 RFID reader engine and provides four external antenna ports for flexible multi-zone RFID system design.
Unlike a single integrated-antenna reader, the F-6950 allows external antennas to be positioned independently according to the required physical coverage.

The configuration utility is used for reader setup and adjustment and is included specifically for configuring the F-6950 hardware.
It is not a substitute for the optional Fresh USA application software used for access control, anti-theft, inventory management, asset tracking or Smart Shelf operation.
Configuration software and application software are different.
The free configuration utility is included with this F-6950 kit. Fresh USA Access Control, Anti-Theft / Inventory and Factory / Warehouse application software packages are separate products unless specifically included in a written quotation or order.

Four external antennas make the F-6950 particularly useful for installations where tagged assets must be detected across several physical directions or operational zones.

Zone tracking is not precision real-time positioning.
Passive UHF RFID identifies tagged items detected within configured reader / antenna zones. Exact position accuracy depends on antenna placement, RF reflections, tag orientation and the surrounding environment.
Anti-Theft and Exit Monitoring
The F-6950 can be used as the reader platform for high-performance anti-theft and tagged-item exit monitoring.
Multiple antennas can be positioned around a large doorway or controlled passage to improve detection geometry and reduce blind areas.
When used with compatible Fresh USA Anti-Theft / Inventory Software, tagged merchandise and assets can be identified, monitored and recorded in real time.
The included flashing light and adjustable audible alarm can be used as part of the configured anti-theft installation.

Smart Shelf Reader Platform
The Impinj Indy R2000 reader engine is suitable for applications that require rapid identification of multiple tagged items, including compatible Smart Shelf systems.
The F-6950 can therefore be used as a centralized four-port reader platform for one or more shelf, display or merchandise-monitoring zones.
Smart Shelf + Multiple Antenna Zones
Different antennas can be connected to the four F-6950 ports and assigned to separate shelf or display areas.
This allows one reader to serve several configured Smart Shelf or merchandise-monitoring zones while the software centrally processes tag activity.
Antenna type, RF output and physical placement can be selected according to the required Smart Shelf zone size and isolation.
Smart Shelf antenna selection is application-specific.
The four included 12 dBi antennas are primarily intended for long-range gate and large-zone applications. Smart Shelf projects may require lower-gain, near-field or other localized compatible antennas and reduced RF power to prevent unwanted reads from adjacent shelves or merchandise.

Access Control Applications

Gate, barrier or lock control may require an external compatible controller or relay interface.
